Automation Test Engineer

ADESA Remarketing Ltd is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to join our team in Chester. This key role provides automated testing for the delivery and execution of ADESA Remarketing Ltd on-premises, cloud, and associated web portals. In this role, you will work with experts in a variety of fields and contribute to the building of digital automotive remarketing products.

You will contribute to the quality of our products by planning, designing, and implementing a suitable test strategy. You will act as a key member of the IT team to ensure timely forward movement of said features. You will contribute as a SME to internal and external documentation. This role will involve working in a dynamic environment and collaborating with team members of different departments, perspectives, and backgrounds.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with automobile remarketing, as well as proven experience as an automation test engineer.

This role requires a deep understanding of automation testing, data integrations, and emerging technologies. In partnership with the Product Owner and Business Analysts, this role aids in knitting together our technologies and solutions to meet the current and emerging needs of our business partners. This role will also ensure proper alignment with corporate testing standards and industry best practices.

Duties and responsibilities

• Deliver high quality manual and automation tests which prove and improve the quality of our products
• Inspire and mentor junior team members
• Help the team to further adopt the use of automated testing
• Design and implement a robust test program across all development projects
• Support the test process, from project specification stage through to customer deployment
• Shape the test approach and process as the team grows
• Share industry best practice with team members
• Ensure partnership with the Solutions Architect, Information Risk, and other corporate resources to ensure product designs are feasible and that implementations align with the organization’s strategy

Skills and Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in technical roles on software development teams
• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum framework
• Capable of setting up and managing continuous integration projects to run automated testing
• Strong teamwork, self-management, problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills (active listening, written, and verbal)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Learning agility - learning new business processes and priorities, technical architectures and developments, and companies and work teams
• Test Framework - Protractor (preferred), Selenium, Webdriver, Jest, Playwright, Cypress etc.
• Azure Dev Ops, Jira or similar
• HTML5, CSS3
• JavaScript
• Git
• CI/CD – Azure Dev Ops (preferred), Jenkins, Circle, Octopus etc.
• BrowserStack (desirable)
